I am a native of Tuam, Co. Galway and based between there and Shrule, Co. Mayo, just 12.5 miles away. My passion and inspiration for photography can be traced directly to my father, Michael Connaughton, who, though now retired was a long standing professional photographer in Tuam. I learned my trade directly from him in the family business before the last days of film, and the subsequent dawn of the digital era. I later trained and worked with my brother, Colm Connaughton in his Cavan based photographic practice. Throughout my life, photography has never released its grip on me, and my enthusiasm for new captures remains as consuming now as it did from the first roll of film I ever shot as a very young child.
With a full studio in Shrule, I cater for all requirements in situ, but can also adapt to any scenario when on location. I welcome all new business, and can arrange a quote for any job, big or small, free of charge. Whether it be a wedding, corporate event, family gathering or landscape, I put every piece of experience and knowledge I possess into preserving images for prosperity through my natural eye for a good photo, superior equipment and years of practice. If you have decided to invest in a professional photographer, you can expect quality and reliability if you engage my services.
